Watercolour
Beginners and Improvers are welcome.
Traditional and experimental watercolour techniques will be explored. By working from direct observation, photographic references, sketches, and imagination. You will encounter a variety of stimulating subject as landscape, still life, natural forms, etc. Reference will also be made to the work of other artists as appropriate.
By the end of the course you should be able to work from various subject matters, Make drawings as studies for paintings and to explore and establish compositions, Mix colours using basic colour theory, Use a range of water based painting techniques, e.g. washes, glazes, dry brush, wet in wet, etc...

Drawing/Sketching
Beginners and Improvers are welcome.
Learning to Sketch will guide you through the stages of creating observational drawings, using pencils, pens and inks. You will explore how to capture the essentials of the subject - the overall form and perspective, a sense of volume, movement and feeling, sometimes a suggestion of light and shade.
Learning to Draw will guide you in using various drawing instruments to mark paper. Instruments include graphite pencils, pen and ink, crayons, charcoal, chalk, pastels, inked brushes, etc ... You will try these different drawing implements on practice sheets to determine value and texture, and how to apply the implement to produce various effects.

Mixed Media
Beginners and Improvers are welcome.
This class allows you to choose and/or combine the best media for a specific subject. Whether it's water colour, pencils, charcoal, pastels, ink, acrylics, oil, etc... It allows you to express your creativity in your own way.
Mixed media, in visual art, refers to an artwork in the making of which more than one medium has been employed. For instance, it can refer to a work on canvas or paper which combines acrylic with pastel.
